Permitted Activity Authorisations

 

A lot of small scale everyday activities, for individual households and businesses, are authorised by permitted activity rules in Regional and District Plans. We can provide advice and assist you determine if your activity is authorised as a permitted activity or whether resource consent is required. We can also assist you in obtaining a Certificate of Compliance for your permitted activity. These certificates can provide assurances to customers, regulators, your supply chain and to potential buyers that you are meeting your environmental obligations.

 

We can also provide a service to Regional and District Councils in processing Certificate of Compliances.

 

Examples of potential permitted activities include; stormwater discharges, domestic wastewater discharges, storage of hazardous substances, domestic home-heating (including wood-burners in some cases), storage of animal effluent, earthworks and dewatering, erosion and sediment control plans and some industrial discharges.

Resource Consent Authorisations

 

Activities that are not authorised by a permitted activity rule will require resource consent. We can assist you determine your authorisation needs and ensure any resource consent you require is robust enough to allow you to operate now and to cover any expansion to your operations and activities. This includes preparing as Assessment of Environmental Effects (AEE) and undertaking public consultation; a requirement for all resource consent applications.

 

If you already have a resource consent but find it is not working for you, we can assist you with any changes to your resource consent conditions to fix these problems. Alternatively we may find you no longer require resource consent and we can assist you cancel these.

 

We can also process a range of resource consent applications on behalf of Regional and District Councils.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Independent Environmental Auditing

 

We are able to provide an independent environmental auditing service for a wide range of industrial and rural activities. We will work with you to identify areas of environmental liability and risk for your operation and can develop a plan to manage and mitigate those risks. We are able to work in with a wide range of existing environmental management systems or can help you develop your own site specific environmental management process and reporting systems.
